This beutiful Hungarian Matyó design is one of the many Hungarian embroidery designs. Inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2012 . The folk art of the Matyó community in north-eastern Hungary in and around the town of Mezőkövesd is characterized by floral motifs. Matyó embroidery decorates the traditional dress of the region, worn by local people in celebratory events.

Finished piece (bag), approx.: 28 cm x 28 cm (11” x 11”)

These beautiful flowers are appliqued onto the top of a bag, but can be created as a cushion, a tabletop or a wall hanging that you can decorate your home with.

It is made of cotton fabric and polyester threads.

 

Washing Instructions: 30° warm wash - Do not tumble dry - Do not dry clean - Warm Iron inside out
